Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://exiftoolgui.org. ExifToolGui.org is an unofficial, independent resource site about ExifToolGui, the Windows graphical interface for Phil Harvey’s ExifTool. This page describes what data is processed when you visit — and what is not collected at all.

What this site does not collect

This site offers no user accounts or registration, no comments, no file uploads and no contact form submissions. You cannot create an account here, and no page on this site asks you to upload a photo or any other file.

Because there are no accounts and no comments, the comment, profile and upload data described in a standard WordPress privacy template are not collected here.

Download and outbound link clicks

Download buttons and some outbound links on this site use /go/ redirect links managed with the Pretty Links plugin. When you click one of those links, the redirect records technical click data — your IP address, browser user agent, the referring page and the time of the click — so that link usage and download counts can be measured.

Those links lead to destinations outside this site: release files on GitHub, an unofficial mirror hosted on Terabox, ExifTool packages via exiftool.org and SourceForge, and product pages for related software and hardware (some of which are affiliate links). Once you follow a link, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies to anything it collects.

Hosting, security and Cloudflare

This site is served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser user agent, and may set strictly necessary security cookies. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for security and traffic statistics.

Cookies

Ordinary visitors are not asked to log in, and no comment cookies are set, because comments and registration are not offered. Cookies you encounter in connection with this site are limited to security-related cookies set by Cloudflare and any cookies set by third-party sites after you follow an outbound link.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the pages and download links on this site remain usable without accepting optional cookies.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site link out to other websites rather than embedding their content where possible. If embedded content from another website does appear on a page, it behaves as if you had visited that website directly, and that website may collect data about you under its own privacy policy.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell personal data. Data processing is limited to what is needed to run the site: the hosting provider and Cloudflare for delivery and security, and the click records stored in this site’s own database by the Pretty Links plugin for link statistics.

How long we retain your data

Click records and server logs are retained for as long as they are needed for traffic measurement, download counts and security review, and are then deleted or kept only in aggregated form.

Your choices

You do not have to use this site’s /go/ links to get the software: ExifToolGui can be downloaded directly from github.com/FrankBijnen/ExifToolGui and ExifTool directly from exiftool.org. For questions about this policy, see the routing guidance on our Contact page.

Where your data is sent

Clicking an outbound link sends you to a destination outside our control — GitHub, Terabox, SourceForge, exiftool.org or a vendor’s product page. No data from this site is sent anywhere else when you simply read a page.
